What I want to do is post a ton of pictures of all the fun things we did in California, but honestly, I didn't get my camera out that much. I guess sometimes I just want to be part of the action, instead of capturing it. Also I think the bunch of Utah pictures I had sitting on my memory card was already overwhelming me!! We had a really great week with Grandma & Grandpa, the kids were in heaven. Everyday we swam in the pool of course but not only that, we did lots of water things. Water slides, water fountains, and bumper boats. We also went to the Ag museum, the movies, and the farmer's market. Where the children ate cotton candy and fresh berries. We saw the movie "Up" which made me cry TWICE. Noah and his cousin Nathan were inseparable. The kids had a garage hangout with movies and moon sand. With Aunt Mandy and Aunt Meagan for playmates Katie was spoiled with dress up clothes, beautiful pink finger and toenails, and dolls with mountains of doll clothes from storage. It was a funny sight to see Mandy, Meagan, and Katie playing with the dolls and fixing their hair. Tiffany showed me how to make these darling bows (thanks Tiff!), I laid by the pool, read lots of books......had a great time!! Laura & Lloyd thanks so much for a fantastic trip!! We will see you very soon, but we all miss you already! Today Katie told me she was leaving and when I asked her where she was going, she said, "on the airplane to Grandma & Grandpa's!"
My sister Steph and her kids, Evy & Dane are here visiting and we have been having a great time. The weather has been beautiful and we have been out and about doing all kinds of things, including strawberry picking! Yum. Evy and Addie are really great friends and have tons of fun playing. On this outing my dad went with us because it was his day off and Noah was so happy that he was coming with us. He said, "Papa is coming with us. That is very unusual."
With the extra time we had in Utah we tried to do as much as we could. We love visiting Utah and just don't get there very much so we started by taking the kids to Temple Square. I couldn't remember the last time I had been there and the kids had a great time looking in the reflection pond and visiting the Church History Museum across the street. We also went over to the fountains at that big mall. The kids loved playing in the water. Grandma saved Katie from a major breakdown by getting her a t-shirt she could get wet instead of her dress, which she adamantly didn't want to swim in. We had a fun and busy weekend and then headed off the California.
We had a great time in Utah at the first Pace family reunion! It was really fun to get the chance to hang out with family that we don't get to see very often. The kids had an awesome time running around with their cousins, taking a semi ride courtesy of Uncle Steve, "fishing" for toys in the fish pond, and playing kickball. It was great get to know all these fun people and realize what a cool group of people us Paces are! Hopefully we can get together again sometime soon.
Today in the car Noah was telling me about one of his friends from school that likes hot sauce. Apparently this kid drank an entire bottle of hot sauce. Noah said, "he likes to eat hot sauce with his chicken."
Katie has great hair. Seriously I do fix it in the morning. I will get it wet and clip it to one side. She looks darling, but after she naps all bets are off. Her hair has a mind of its own. Wild wild hair. Jason has taken to calling her Einstien. When I tell her it's time to fix her hair she says, "my CURLY hair."
Katie likes to copy everything Addie says and does. On the way to church this morning Addie was telling me about a bad dream he had. Then Katie pipes in, "mama I had a bad dream." Addie: "no mom, she is just copying me."
