Our sunny Saturday

No Fair!

There are some things that are said around our house quite often. See if you can guess the source:

"Mom, Noah is hurting my feelings."

"Mom, Noah is making me sick."

"Mom, Noah is ruining my life."

"It's not fair!!!"

Honestly I am no stranger to the trials of the second child, being one myself. It can be especially challenging if the oldest is a good and easy kid. (I am talking about Noah, and my older sister Stephanie.) I guess all that can be said is what my parents told me, life isn't fair. So so true, but a very unsatisfying answer as far as my three year old Addie is concerned.

Babies and Bunco

For the past couple of days we have had some very fun visitors at our house! Grandma and the Aunts, Mandy, Meagan, and Tiffany. Everyone came up to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Mike and Melissa's little baby Beckham. The Pace family is full of babies this past little while with Kitty and Jonathan, now we have Beckham almost here and hopefully we will be giving Meagan a baby shower very soon. On Saturday we surprised Melissa and took her out for pedicures and shopping and a big party, Pace style. In case anyone was wondering "Pace Style" includes bunco and yummy desserts. It was so fun. Then everyone came down to our place on Sunday and stayed for a few extra days. The kids have had a great time and Addie was so sad to see them go. So much so that he was willing to ride back to California in one of their suitcases. We went to Seattle, the beach, and really just had fun spending some time together. Mandy stayed in Kitty's fabulous four star room and we were glad to have her. Meagan and Grandma spent lots of time under the blanket of the fort "camping." Jason and I also had a great time having them here and we hope they will come back soon, anytime they want!

While we were in Seattle we took the boys and Kitty to the center and the rides right at the Space Needle. Noah and Addie first went on the little roller coaster. Noah loved it, but Addie didn't. They got off and Noah used all the rest of his tickets to ride it 4 more times. Addie on the other hand tried the more mellow rides. Even he seemed kinda bored on the little cars, but he wasn't going for the thrill again that's for sure. Sometimes there is too much of me in him, and I feel bad because it isn't easy being so cautious all the time.

How does our garden grow?

This afternoon was very sunny so the boys and I were outside playing a little "train station." This involves the boys stripped down to their undies and me filling them with water while they run around the yard till they need more water for the engine. Eventually I was just spraying them until they made it up to the deck, which is the base and I can't squirt them. Whenever Addie would try to run up and I was going to really get him, he would yell, "I love you Mom!!" Then they were just basking in the sun and I told Noah I wanted to take a picture of them. He told me no way, he was in his undies. I told him no one would see it and he made me pinky promise. So even though I am tempted to post the picture of the boys sunbathing in their Spongebob Squarpant underware, you will have to settle for this picture because I'm pretty sure that when Noah said not to show anyone, that included posting it on the internet.

This is a picture of our little garden. It is little by necessity due to the fact that our whole backyard is the size of a postage stamp, but a very nice one thanks to Jason's hard work. The garden has been Jason's project and just look how great it is growing! We should be having fresh zucchini for dinner next week, and probably lunch and breakfast too, you know how zucchini grows. You can all expect to receive some by mail. We also have a lovely strawberry patch growing tons of berries. We are trying to get the jasmine in the middle to climb our trelis.

I love you Dad!

For my dad on Father's Day! I just thought I would post this little list of reasons I love my dad and think he is the absolute best dad in the world!
1. He has always made me feel like I am his smartest and favorite child, and even though both of these things are true, I bet all of his kids feel this way.
2. When I was a little girl he would take me on "dates" to where ever I wanted to go, even B&I, which couldn't have been exciting for him.
3. I feel like my dad knows everything, any medical, financial, spiritual or really any questions he's got the answers!
4. Just seeing him with my children, being such a great papa and how much they love him, it warms my heart completely.
5. This is just the smallest start. The fact that this list could go on and on is just one of the many reasons I LOVE YOU DAD!

(This post would not be complete without me saying what a fantastic father my hubby Jason is and how much I love him! I am so glad that we share the wonderful blessing and the awesome responsibility of raising our children together. I would never chose anyone else for this adventure!! I love you sweetie. and the little one said..roll over

This is what it's like at our house in the morning, except you need to picture me on the left of Addie. It starts with Addie coming into cuddle with me at around seven. Next comes Noah with his little, "good morning Mom." Then Kitty can be heard screeching from her crib, and Jason goes and gets her to bring her into our bed also. Me and Jason try to stay in our semi-awake state till around seven thirty and by then the boys are arguing about who kicked who under the blanket and Kitty is getting hungry for breakfast and we all pile out of bed. All I can say about it is I love waking up to my kids hugs and kisses and I am glad we have a king sized bed!!!

Look who's Talking

Something that happens often at our house, courtesty of Jason, is that everyone makes a baby voice and pretends to say what Kitty would be saying if she could. For example, when we are having dinner and we all tell about our days, Jason does a baby voice and says,

"first I woke up, then I had my ba-ba, then I took a nap," ...you get the idea.

The boys find this super hilarious. This morning at breakfast she was playing with a straw, waving it around. Noah was making her commentary like she was performing a magic show, "Abracadabra, make my baby food appear!" He shares the same sense of humor as his dad, and it was pretty funny! The only thing left to wonder is, what do you think she is saying in this picture. I think we can only assume it isn't anything very complimentary.

A Summer Day

On Saturday we took the kids to go see Shrek 3 and I was pretty doubtful that Kitty would make it through the whole movie but she did. She was a little cutie and just stayed awake the whole time playing with the popcorn and our drinks. She has been making this face lately, she wrinkles up her nose and sniffs a bunch. It is hard to explain but so cute. The boys loved the movie, especially the burping jokes.

Noah only has 2 more weeks of school and he can't wait for summer. The weather this week hasn't been very nice and we are anxious to get some sunshine so we can head to the beach and the park. Addie is also excited for summer and asks me everyday, "how many more days until a summer day?"

Friends with Bikes

This weekend we went to the bike rodeo at Noah's school. The boys had a really great time playing all the games and eating all the treats. Kitty got her first taste of cotton candy. We walked over from our house putting our new double jogging stroller to work (we love it!). Addie could not believe his good fortune that the stroller was not just for Kitty, but for him too. He felt it was a huge bonus also that he gets to ride right next to her and can bug her as much as he wants (He is still so totally in love with her.) Noah just walked and didn't ride his bike. He is still feeling nervous about learning to ride it. He is not afraid of many things, he is an adventurous boy, but he is afraid of falling off his bike. I hope he will be able to swallow his fear and learn to ride this summer.

On Sunday, Jason gave the boys a little lesson about sharing. He told them about him and his own brother when they were growing up and playing with their legos, a little "crash derby." Whenever he talks to them about being good brothers he always tells them how him and his brother ( Uncle Mike) always shared toys and were best friends. They love to hear these stories because they love Uncle Mike. I know that they are both thinking to themselves, "well if Uncle Mike were my brother we wouldn't fight either but I have to put up with this guy." However I am sure little Mike and little Jason were just as rowdy, mischievous, and of course as sweet as any one of these two.
