Smile

Although I usually end up telling the boys to knock it off, I really do love the silly faces they pull when I try to take their pictures.

So Relaxing

My sweet little Katie. How will I ever get you to stop sucking those fingers?

Batter Up

We have been having the BEST weather. It is so nice out and it seems like everyday for the past couple of weeks after school the boys and Jason go out and play a baseball game. The boys can't get enough and Jason is getting to be quite the expert pitcher with all this practice. Sometimes Katie wants to take a few swings, but nothing ever really connects. With all this sliding into home plate, we are definately going to need some new jeans over here.

Out in the Woods

Little boys love hiking. Roaming through the woods carrying a walking stick, what could be better? Little girls don't like it as much, at least not my little girl. There were so many people out with their different kinds of dogs it was Noah's dream. The boys led the way walking far ahead making plans and laughing together. With all the beautiful green, the blue sky, the sunshine, and the ocean it was a wonderful Saturday.

Soon

I have a VERY thirsty daughter. I have joked many times that she was a sea creature in her previous life. The thing that I hear from her most often everyday is, "Mama can you get me a drink of water please." Sometimes I get tired of all this water getting. But then I remember: Soon she will be able to get her own water. When I get in the middle of a project I hate to stop, but sometimes my little son wants to play, "just one game of cow crochet please." Sigh. But really soon he will be gone at school most of the day and we won't be able to do much playing together. After a pretty long day I get to put Katie and Adam to bed and I love just reading my book, or messing around on craft blogs, but sometimes my older son Noah wants me to "watch just one episode of MythBusters with me please Mom. You've really GOT to see this." And guess what, soon watching TV with his dear old mom will be the last thing on his mind. So I get, I play, and I watch. I feel like an old lady sometimes because really, it's going by so fast and I love them so much.

Finn's Blessing In Utah

How cute was little Finn at his blessing. He is such a sweetheart. It was so cold in Utah we almost blew away with the very wild wind. Jason and I were there without the kids, thanks Mom!, and had a fun time being together with his family. We drove down memory lane, things have changed. It was fun to see Jason's grandparents, we don't get to see his grandmas often enough, they are very sweet ladies. We went to dinner and the movies TWICE!! Wonderful, we loved it! It's always fun to get home to your kids though and have them hug you tight and tell you that you were missed.

For Addie, Whenever You May Read This

Adam, who could not love you with that little twinkle in your eyes? In the past you have been a challenging, high energy kid. Lately though I have realized that phase is over. Now you are just a sweet and obedient little boy, (Mostly, every kid has their moments and really that goes without saying.) You are just happy and always the first to tell me, "you're the best mom in the world." or "I love you Mom." You should just know that at age six you have us right where you want us. We couldn't love you more.
Whenever you get off the bus in the afternoon you RUN straight to the car. The other day I asked you, "why do you always run so fast after you get off the bus?" And you replied, "I just really like you and Katie." Talk about melting my heart.
Katie has a problem called not cleaning up her room. Whenever I ask her to do it, she just plays around till I have to come up and get mad and take her dress-ups away. THEN she is sorry and she cries. You hate the situation. You are always trying to clean up her room for her. I told you not to, she needs to learn. Yesterday I was coming up to check if she had cleaned her room when you came racing down to tell me that it was clean. I asked you if you did it. You said no. I could tell you were lying to me. I didn't bust you though, you are just one tenderhearted brother.

9:30 Ramblings

I wish I had a wide angle lens so I could show you all the junk piling up in my room. Fabric, Easter basket stuff, fabric, empty pop cans, fabric, baby gifts, and papers everywhere. And oh the post-its. I even have a can of spray paint in here. I'm afraid there isn't an angle wide enough. If I buy anymore fabric Jason may or may not strangle me.
In spite of all these piles of STUFF, I wanted to say that I'm just really happy right now. I feel like life is really good. I am so content, so blessed, and just deeply grateful. I love my kiddos and hubby so much it hurts, and I feel very loved in return. Things aren't perfect, they rarely ever are...but they are, know what I mean? I think you might.

Start Your Engines

Noah's Luigi car was the third fastest in the whole pack. He loved the pinewood derby this year and had a great time racing the car he and Jason worked so much on. Addie cheered his brother very enthusiastically, it was sweet.

Team Pace

The kids love getting to meet Uncle Mike, Aunt Melissa, and their boys. We always have a great time joking and talking and with the sun shining it was a perfect afternoon. Finn is growing very fast and Becks is always a laugh! We really feel lucky to be living so close and able to see them often.

Same Old

One part of getting used to family life is the way things are always changing. But when you really think about it, a lot of things stay the same. (check this out)

Run Katie, Run!

Katie just so you know this one day....you are extremly cute. Yesterday you insisted I take tons of pictures of you running down this hill. I didn't mind. I love to photograph your huge eyes and darling curls, especially when they are flying behind you. I was cringing waiting for you to trip you were running so fast. You never did though, I guess you are growing up. Sometimes too fast, hey slow down.

Weird Science

I think Noah was mostly interested in going to the science fair because if he showed up he got excused from his homework. Noah felt that his project was "kinda lame." The project he wanted us to see the most was this kid who blew soap up in the microwave. Now those are some cool parents, but I'm not that nice. In case you were wondering, Noah IS wearing his gloves.

Comments That Make Me Feel Old, And Games That Make Me Laugh

This morning Addie was asking me if I watched the movie Cars when I was a little girl, I told him that movie wasn't around when I was little. Noah called from across the room very seriously, "Yeah, they only had black and white TV when Mom was little."
Recently Addie was looking through a book about the Titanic asking lots of questions. His best question though was this, "Mom, were you on the Titanic?"
Katie has been so funny with her pretending lately. She has roles she wants me to play and she directs everything I say. Sometimes I'm a good guy, sometimes a villian depending on how she feels about me. For instance:
Katie: Mama, I'm the Belle. You're Gaston.
Me: Marry me Belle. I love you.
Katie: I'll never marry you!
Or
Katie: Mama, I'm the Belle. You're the Beast.
Me: I love you Belle.
Katie: Why did you kill my Father!
Or
Katie: Mama, I'm Ariel. You're the Sea Witch.
Me: It won't cost much, just your voice.
Katie: I will never trade my voice! (then she sings the Ariel song)

Kids Are Strange Sometimes

Noah, you're cute! You wear these gloves around all the time. Even in the house. Even as I type this you are watching TV with these gloves on. I don't know why. I can't get an explanation out of you. It's cool though, I don't mind it. You can be a strange kid sometimes but it only makes me love you more.
