Life with Addie

Addie loves and hates trains. I told him I wanted to take his picture on a train, and he told me, "OK but I don't want to jump off of it when it's going."

Hee. Classic Addie. Check out the look on his face. See how his shoes are on the wrong feet. He persists with it even though I know that he knows how to put them on the right way. The other day my sister-in-law was over hanging out and Addie comes downstairs and asks me all matter-of-factly, "Mom can you get this out of my mouth." He had clipped one of Katie's hairclips to the inside of his cheek and couldn't get it out. My SIL was laughing and I told her, it's never boring being Addie's mom. I love it. He has such a total sweet side. And he has his mischievous side. Jason and I joke that Addie's shoulder angel is on a permanent vacation and he only has his shoulder devil. He gets all the naughty ideas, just no voice telling him, "no don't do it...you'll get in trouble....you know you shouldn't." Just that one guy saying "do it....I dare you." In spite of this, and partly because of it, we adore Addie and he is such a little character, what fun he brings to our family.

Missy

What's going on at our house? Katie has been living in the princess dress that I made her to spare her Sunday dresses. No really.........even sleeping in it. Today I told her I needed to wash it because it had stains. She did not want to take it off. She told me, "no, I'm beautiful." She is so much fun!! We love her cuteness.
Earlier today when we were leaving the house I told her, "OK let's go joe." She said, "I'm not go joe, I'm Missy."

Older & Wiser

So how did we celebrate Jason's 36th birthday?? Well we woke up and Jason opened his presents and had his favorite Cookie Crisp in bed, then we sent the boys off to school. Next we Guitar Hero battled each other in our pj's, I won't mention who won......, we went on some errands, then on a bike ride. The day was sunny and warm and we loved it. We bbq'ed some steaks for Jason's birthday dinner and then rode our bikes over to Pack meeting, where Noah got his first bead. Noah is an awesome bike rider, but hasn't quite mastered the use of his brakes, which is hilarious fun if you are riding behind him. Seriously it's funny to watch, he's so cute. We can home and ate Jason's yummy soccer cake. It was a pretty fun day. Happy Birthday Sweetie! And many more.......

Noah

I really love him. Sweet, smart, funny, and handsome. Every night I send him to bed and when I come in to kiss him goodnight he is on his knees by the bed saying his prayers. Oh and melting my heart. He is a writer, an artist, and a music lover. He gets his sense of humor and fashion sense: hole-y jeans and t-shirts, from his dad. Also his sweet and agreeable nature....that definitely didn't come from me. He is so much like Jason, must be one of the reasons I love him so much.

Copy Cat

Katie is very amusing for Adam and his friends. Whenever I drive carpool they always have her repeating whatever they say or do what they're doing.......then they all laugh hilariously. She really loves his friends. She knows all their names and which houses they belong to. She loves carpool day cause she gets to hang out with the big girls, who are all so sweet to her, and Addie is always so proud that she is his little sister.

Butterfly Wings and Fancy Things

We have a colorful butterfly at our house. Also a beautiful princess who insists on only wearing dresses. Her "pretty princess" dresses. She's also going to need her barbie shoes. This girl LOVES to play dress up. Thank goodness summer is coming......I am going to need to get more sundresses.

Pike's Place

Pike's we love you with your little donuts, your beautiful bright flowers and vegetables, your crowds, your fish, and your raindrops! We hope that Nathan enjoyed his first trip to Pike's, in spite of enjoying a "true" Seattle experience in the rain.

Meg & Nate come to Washington

We just got a visit from, no not the Easter bunny, but Aunt Meagan and Uncle Nate. They were much more fun than any old bunny and we had a great visit with them. We hung out, dyed eggs, played Guitar Hero and Mario Kart, went to Seattle, soccer, laser tag, photoshopped, hiked to the falls, and mostly just got to be together. The kids adored the chance to be with them and play, and Jason and I loved the chance to talk and laugh with these two. We usually are with the whole family when we get together so it was fun to have it just the four of us this time. Thanks so much for coming our way we had a blast and we miss you already.

For you sweetie!

The Zoo

On Tuesday we took a trip with some friends up to the Woodland Park Zoo. What a fun zoo it was, huge, and we had a great time. It was a gorgeous day to be out and about looking at all the different animals. Noah and Adam loved being there with friends and had a blast. Noah really enjoyed finding us on the map and pointing us in the right direction. Missy loved the elephants, but squealed when I tried to put her down in front of the snake exhibit. She told me they were hungry and wanted to eat her. Addie just loved it all, especially the little play areas found all around the park. He loves to run, climb, and jump. I loved being there with my little ones, soaking up the sun, and seeing their excitement.

Katie's "scary" face

Are you scared yet? Come on.......she likes it if you scream and hide your eyes.

Dusting off the old Blog to say Happy Easter

Finally I took some new portrait shots of the kids for Easter. Couldn't deny the lovely warm light of the sunshine calling me and my camera's name forever. When I was going over these photos I couldn't believe how much older my kids look from when I took their portraits in August. My boys are so handsome.....if I do say so myself, and well Katie is just turning from baby to little girl before my eyes. I sure do love them like crazy. For more shots click here. *that blog is pretty dusty too!

Hello Sunshine!!

We have been busy enjoying the most wonderful weather. Today it had to be seventy degrees!! We have been outside at the park or in the yard all day these last few days and tumble into bed so tired out from all the fun and sunshine. It's like a mini summer break! Here is Katie enjoying her ice cream sandwich.
