Busy Baby

This is how Katie spends her mornings when Addie is at school. She is so busy coloring and creating at her little pink table. I love it, but I also have to admit lately there's alot of crying and, "it's not working!!" coming from her. If only the chubby hands of a two year old could work better for all her little details.

Grandma & Grandpa Visit

I've been a horrible blog slacker lately but I couldn't let another day go by without posting about our visit from Grandma & Grandpa!!! We had a great time with them and the kids, as always, just really loved having them here. We went to the movies with the boys (Race to Witch Mountain), we also went up the the Pacific Science Center. I didn't bring my camera, darn it, but whether I have the photographic evidence or not we had a blast. The kids LOVED it. We liked the IMAX, the butterfly house, the dinosaurs (except Katie who found them scary), the naked mole rats & snacks, and just really all of the exhibits were fun. We also got to keep Grandma for a few extra days after the weekend and had a great time. We shopped a little on Monday and Grandma bought Katie two new pairs of shoes, which she still loves and wears everywhere. She is already a shoe-aholic. On St. Patrick's Day Grandma made us a yummy breakfast of green eggs and ham,
green OJ, and scones. The kids loved hearing the story, Green Eggs and Ham and another one about mischievous leprechauns. We were very sad to see them go......as usual, but what a fun couple of days!! We can't wait till we see you again and the kids are still asking, how much longer till Grandma is babysitting us at her house????

What Brothers??

Jason told me he was showing our blog to someone and he had to laugh when he saw that almost all of my most recent posts have pictures of Katie, but none of the boys. In my defense the boys will rarely let me photograph them and also I am just with Katie more often as the boys are gone more and more at school, activities, and friends' houses. It's kinda sad really. Well instead of fixing this situation here's ANOTHER post about Katie. Katie has been so funny playing with her dollhouse lately. In case you have been wondering how I manage to spend so much time with my sewing and photoshopping..........I have made my "office" a little playroom. I moved in Katie's dollhouse, Addie's legos, and a little coloring table and chairs. It is awesome for me, as I can get more done, and fun for them to play right by me. I love listening to Katie play, she is sooo funny and that's a bonus of our arrangement. Her dollhouse has this "little sister" doll and she loves it. She is always talking about her "little sister." She will be coloring at the table, but then, "wait Mom, I need my sister." She likes to have it with her. Sadly this is as close as she will probably come to a sister. Hee.

Our Good Fortune

So today for pizza night we watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua. I know.......you feel sorry for me but watching kids' movies is part of the job. The opening sequence was showing Rodeo Drive and all the people shopping, and pools, and mansions. I was trying to explain to the kids, "Beverly Hills is where rich people live." Noah turned to me and said so seriously, "We're rich, right mom?" And of course we are in all the ways that count. It's so sweet and reassuring to hear that life is good to him and he has everything that matters.

When You're Having Fun

Is it really March already?? I can't believe how fast the weeks fly by sometimes. I have been sewing everything, baking lots, and I just started another photography class. Add to that all the usual story reading, tickle-gaming, homework helping, and cuddling. Then throw in the housework, cooking, and don't even get me started on the laundry...........and February has been a blur. The weather has been beautiful and I think spring is around the corner.

My Living Room Wall

Now-a-days Katie pretty much hates it when I get my camera out. She will not look at me and in fact makes really grumpy looking faces if she does happen to glance my way. It makes for lovely candids, her staring off into the distance or paying no attention whatsoever to the camera, but forget about getting that posed shot I need for my living room. Sigh. Here are some pictures of what I'm dealing with. I did get a few good ones......click here and check them out, and would you please tell me which is your favorite for hanging on my wall?????

Something Cute x 3

From oldest to youngest:

I have been learning how to make homemade bread recently. Many of you are wondering why would I want to do that, it's so time consuming and it really is, but it's very yummy and kinda cool to know how to do it from scratch. Noah is always so proud of me & the things I can do, it's seriously cute. He has been very complimentary of my bread and was downright amazed at the good looking bread loaves I was pulling out of the oven. When we went over to my mom & dad's for dinner everyone was sitting around the table talking and Noah whispers over to me, "mom tell them what you can do....you know, how you can make bread." He is so sweet.

Addie is so funny lately. If he sees anything, and I mean anything, in a commercial he wants it. A commercial for allergy medicine will be on and he is telling me, "we should get that." I'm all why? He's all, "because it has been helping people breathe easier for 30 years." Hee. He has seen the infomercial for something called the Snuggli and really wanted it. Imagine his surprise at going over to visit his uncle Mike and seeing that Mikey has it. Addie was so excited he's all, "now you can keep warm while talking on the phone or reading your book." Heh.

Lastly, here is a picture of Katie as I found her yesterday. She is constantly foraging for food you would think we never feed her. She is also a huge stuffer, why eat things one at a time when you can shove them all in at once? I think she has two strawberry marshmellows in her mouth and two more ready to go.
