The Water Baby

I know I've posted before about Katie's ongoing love affair with water, but I would definitely say that it is still one of her favorite things. Water is very exciting to her. Once you get her in the bath she isn't coming out without a fight. If the boys are in the bath you better believe that she will stand by the bathroom door the entire time yelling to them that she wants to get in until they are finished. No matter where we are if there is water around she wants to touch it, drink it, or just get into it and play. She is also the thirstiest baby I have ever seen and she only will drink water. I joke to Jason that in her previous life she was a sea creature. Maybe a little starfish or something. Noah chimed in that she was probably a mermaid. Hee! She would love it if she could be a mermaid, all day every day in the water--hello happiness!

Married Lady

She's cute and now she's married! We love Aaron, he is wonderful. The wedding was lovely and the reception was so much fun. It was at Thornwood Castle, I had never been there before, but wow it was beautiful. Also Michelle was beautiful. A person might think I would be able to post some darling pictures of Michelle and Aaron but I didn't take any because I didn't want to get in the photographer's way when he was taking pics outside, and inside the castle the lighting was terrible. So you will just have to imagine how fabulous she looked. It is crazy that my little sister is married and I am just so happy for her. Aaron and her are so great together! So here's to happily ever after!!!

Close-Ups

I've been taking a photography class on Tuesday nights and so far I have been having a fun time. Photography is more complicated than I thought, and I am definitely one of the more beginning beginners in the class. I haven't always been drawn to taking pictures and I am not dying to do landscapes or architecture shots but I love taking photographs of my children. It is really them that I am drawn to and I am always trying to capture their faces and maybe a little bit of their personalities because they are always changing so much and I hope to remember all the times we spend together and what they are like at these different ages. So aperture, shutter speed, and exposure aside I hope to have some sort of proof of their mesmerizing eyes and mischievous smiles.

The Piano Man

Noah has been taking piano lessons for the past three months from his Grammy. He really loves the lesson and the time he gets to spend at her house without the rest of us. He also doesn't mind practicing too much. He even wrote his own song and an accompanying duet part. It was really something, words and everything. When he does well on his lesson and has been practicing diligently he earns "grammy-bucks," fake money with my mom's picture on it. Then once every couple of months he takes his stash to the "store" and gets to pick out all kinds of prizes, including his favorite prize last time his own gumball machine.

18 Months

Katie is 18 months old today! It's hard to believe she is growing up so fast. Here's a few sentences about our little miss at 18 months.
She loves to eat peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, cheese, and pizza. She especially loves Daddy, he is her very favorite person. She can say lots of words, for example baby, dada, mama, no, noah, addie, hi, cheese, ball, doggie, and papa to name a few. She loves her babies and her brothers. She likes to play "peas porridge" with her Grammy. She loves being outside digging in the dirt and playing with balls. She is very cuddly, very sweet, and we love her very much.

Grandma + Grandma

We had a visit from Jason's mom and grandma this past weekend and had a great time hanging out with them. Jason's grandma, Ruth, served her mission here in Washington and was glad to come back for a little trip. I was very happy to be around a fellow WA lover. I love it though I am a Washington girl at heart and wouldn't choose any other place. Really it's so beautiful, I wouldn't trade all that gorgeous green and the wonderful summers and falls here.
On Friday we had a lovely pizza night complete with Alvin and the Chipmunks. Then we met Uncle Mike and Aunt Melissa at Snoqualmie Falls on Saturday. The waterfall was awesome and then we went to this huge train museum full of amazing exhibits. Ha Ha! It was tiny and I think it was a real stretch calling it a museum. We did see a train though that we may go back and ride at some point because, cool!
Sunday was a relaxing day hanging out with the family and watching conference. We had a great time! I hope that Washington was everything that Ruth remembered and we loved seeing her!!! Grandma is always a huge hit at our house, even though the boys felt it was odd seeing her without Grandpa!!! Addie kept saying, "Next time Grandpa too right?"

Just A Little Something

Look at that! I know, I know it's very tiny but hey-- a little ponytail. Now we're getting somewhere. Let me tell you what it is seriously hard to get that in. I'm going to have to get a lot better if I ever hope to get Katie in pigtails.
