Noah just finished a week at cub scout day camp. He had a great time!! We loved going to the dinner held on the last day to hear the boys' skits and group cheers. Jason got to go be a teacher one of the days showing the boys how to build catapults. It was definately fun for Noah to have his dad there. He finished his Wolf and next up is onto Bear.Sunday, July 19, 2009

Snow in Sun
Friday night we had our little nephew Becks spend the night with us and they we met up with Mike and Melissa at Mt. Rainier on Saturday morning. Becks was a lovely little house guest and we had a great time with him. We had an interesting time at Paradise...it was pretty crowded and hard to find parking. We also backed into someone! Oops. Addie: "Dad, why did you crash that guy?"We had the usual laughs though and had fun hanging out. It's pretty weird playing in the snow and sunshine all at once. Of course there was ice cream on the way home and Addie told me: "Mom I really like mountain reindeer. We should go there again."

They Really Do Have a Mom

If you follow this blog you will know that I very rarely post any photos of myself, I just don't like myself in pictures. I am also the one always taking the pictures and I often think that when the kids get older and go over all the family pictures they will be wondering if they even had a mom, and was she ever with them on all these events. However, my very talented SIL took these pictures of the kids and I and I really like them! What a surprise. I guess it's easier to like pictures of yourself when you have such cute little people in them with you! I love Katie's squishy faced one...so cute.

Addie-isms
Adam: "I know there's something we never drink. It's bad for you."
Me: "oh yeah? What is it?"
Adam: "Beard"
At the grocery store while looking over my list he sees a question mark next to one of the items:
Addie: "Why is this one a mystery?"
After I finished spraying him with sunscreen he looks down at his arm hair that is kind of glistening in the sun:
Addie: "Look Mom, my fur is white."
While we are talking about the weather:
Addie: "I think one more day of sun and then a couple days partly cloudy."

Fourth of July
I know I know TONS of pictures. It's too hard to decide which ones best captured the action this fourth. We had a great day, I love the fourth of July. We started by watching the parade and then playing on the bounce houses and little train ride. Then back to my parents for BBQ and lots of wet trampoline jumping. Ever since my parents got the trampoline the kids LOVE jumping, it's all they want to do and they are always asking if we can go over and jump. We got to do some fireworks, just small ones, and the boys even got to light some. My nephew Dane was so cute with Noah, tagging along with him and hugging him and sitting on his lap. The boys stayed up late to watch fireworks and loved it. We are going to really miss Steph and the kids who had to leave on Monday. Wish we lived closer.

Delicious Hot Shmoes
We really love the campfire part of camping, not so much the sleeping part, but the hot dogs and marshmellow part. The hiking, talking, laughing, and hanging out part. It's nice when you have a campground just ten minutes from home because you only have to do the parts you like!! It's especially great if your sister and her cute kids are in town and Grammy and Papa come too. Kids running in the woods, throwing rocks in the river, getting covered in dirt and marshmellows.......what could be more fun! I know...being home in time to tuck the kids into their own beds and watch some Lost before bed.
